As a Principal Investigator, you will be leading a cross-functional research team of high-level scientific personnel and faculty to drive execution to project timelines and overall program goals from initial concept through successful conclusion. Influenza viruses and pandemic influenza are the main targets of the work. As part of Faculty at VGTI Florida you will: ·Develop practical approaches for vaccine construction and delivery into inductive sites in an effort to elicit host protection ·Study, evaluate and quantify the immune response to influenza vaccines in elderly persons with an end result of boosting the immune response and improve the efficacy of vaccines in elderly subjects ·Identify mechanisms that can lead to the development of better vaccines for emerging viral infections such as pandemic influenza ·Oversee programs and provide leadership and guidance to staff and graduate students ·Facilitate the establishment of translational research programs with external peer-reviewed funding; bridging
